Downtown Hillcrest Shopping District

Hillcrest’s shopping district offers hundreds of choices for shopping and eating out.  There are antique shops, beauty salons, furniture stores, and several quaint restaurants from Italian Cuisine to Chinese faire to good old fashioned BBQ.

Gaslamp Quarter

Within minutes is the Gaslamp Quarter.  There are several blocks of dozens of restaurants and nightclubs.  Right nearby is the Horton Plaza Mall, a six story shopping center with a theatre and several restaurants.

Balboa Park

This historic site is full of charm.  There are museums, the Old Globe Theatre, Casa del Prado Theatre, walking trails, and also the World Famous San Diego Zoo.  It is host of December Nights once a year which is a wonderful holiday celebration with free entrance into museums, free food, and entertainment.

Sea World and Mission Bay

A couple miles north off the 5 Freeway is Sea World and Mission Bay.  Mission Bay is a great place for swimming, jet skiing, and playing in the sand.  It also offers some large playgrounds for children.  Sea World is a great attraction with not only creatures from the sea, but also some great water rides and shows.
